Silboron™ is a Silicon and Boron dietary supplement. Boron and Silicon act synergistically in this product to help maintain bone health and prevent bone degeneration.

Boron plays a key role in the retention of Calcium by our bones. In a study carried out by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, post-menopausal women who took daily doses of Boron (3 mg) lost 40% less Calcium when urine samples were taken. Research has also revealed that the body may NEED Boron to synthesize estrogen, Vitamin D and other steroid hormones. Boron may also protect these hormones from rapid breakdown.

Silicon is required for proper integrity of skin, ligaments, tendons and bone. Silicon is required for the proper functioning of the enzyme prolyhydroxylase which is responsible for the formation of collagen in bone, cartilage and other connective tissues. Silicon may also be important in bone calcification.

A Nutritional Note…Although Calcium supplementation is vitally important in the fight against osteoporosis, only the cortical bone (the outer, hard layer of the bone) is strengthened from added Calcium intake. Where osteoporosis most often occurs, in the trabecular (spongy bone) region of the bone, Calcium can not affect.

In order to target all possible osteoporosis prone areas of the bone, Magnesium, Boron and Silicon are as important to supplement as Calcium is.
