SeaSEL™ is manufactured from specifically processed Pacific Ocean alga, Macrocystis pyrifera, the giant kelp. It is an excellent hypoallergenic source of all essential trace mineral elements including selenium, chromium, molybdenum and iodine. 

The selenium mineral is an excellent antioxidant in and of itself and a component of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase. Glutathione peroxidase is a major actor in preventing free radical damage to cell membranes. We usually get our selenium from the soil, but as our soil becomes more depleted and contaminated by pesticides and heavy metals, our selenium intake is compromised.

Selenium is also responsible for: the production of thyroid hormone, proper fetal development and is an antagonist to heavy metals. Recent studies have shown that using Selenium with Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant program.
