Reishi Mushrooms (Ganoderma lucidum)
In Chinese Medicine believed to have anti-aging properties as reishi behaves in many respects as an antioxidant. It has applications as a oxygenator within cells, supporting energy. It supports immune system function and supports vascular health and heart health. It may have applications as an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergen. Reishi contains several major constituents, including sterols, coumarin, mannitol, polysaccharides, and triterpenoids called ganoderic acids. Maitake means "dancing mushroom'' in Japanese. In the United States, they
also are known as hen-of-the-woods because the mass of mushrooms looks like
fluffed-up feathers. Acts as an immune stimulant and immune supporter and
supports vascular and cardiovascular health. Primary constituent is beta-D-glucan
which has tremendous immune supporting effects.
